A support group of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Campaign Organization (BCO), in the last Presidential and General Elections, has hailed the verdicts of the Supreme Court on the governorships election petitions.

BCO in a statement signed by its National Coordinator QS Mohammed Makinta (FNIQS), National Women Leader and Iyaloja-General, Alhaja Folashade Tinubu-Ojo and its National Patron, Alhaji Abdulwahab Korede Quadri (FCIB), described the apex court’s verdicts as a genuine reflection and endorsement of the people’s choice.

The group also praised the Judiciary for upholding it’s role as the last hope of the common man, contributing to the credibility of Nigeria’s democracy.

BCO said, “As a political group, we hail the Supreme Court verdicts on the governorships election petitions as it shows the transparency and knowledge of law of the apex court in discharging it’s constitutional duties without any favour”.

“All the decisions made during it’s sitting on Friday vividly confirmed it’s transparency and decision made during the presidential tribunal election in 2023 which clearly shows it’s impartiality in the ruling”.

“With this latest development, the Supreme Court decisions at the governorships election petitions again reaffirmed its role as the last hope of the common man”.

Meanwhile, the group also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Presidency for allowing the Judiciary to discharge it’s constitutional duties without any favour independently, which confirmed his renewed hope agenda based on his antecedent for rule of law which saw Governors with the APC and other political parties win their cases at the Supreme Court.

BCO also appreciated the support of National Assembly for their support for independence of the Judiciary by prioritising national and state interests over divisive party politics.

“We want to specifically thank His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Presidency and Leadership of the National Assembly, for remaining firm to the resolve that the Judiciary remains independent”, it added.

Recall that the APC won three cases—Lagos, Ebonyi and Cross River States.

For Lagos State, the court affirmed the election of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and did the same for Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, and Bassey Otu of Cross River State.
