Ogun: Islamic Leader, Sheik Lawal Congratulates Abiodun On Re-election Victory

A renowned Islamic leader and Wakeelu Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Sheik Iskeel Lawal (Sugar), has felicitated with the governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun and his Deputy, Engr. (Mrs) Noimot Salako – Oyedele on their well-deserved victory by the people of the state at the March 18 governorship for another four – year mandate.

Lawal who is the consultant to the state’s governor on Islamic Affairs, in a statement he personally signed on Wednesday, said governor Abiodun’s outstanding achievement in the state most importantly in the area of infrastructural development, education, health sector contributed to his reelection victory.

Lawal however called on the governor to prioritize youth development as it serves as one of the ways to empower and uplift the wellbeing of the country’s youth population.

He urged governor Abiodun to maintain equitable distribution of state resources to the betterment of the state as encapsulated in his ISEYA mandate of Infrastructure, Social Welfare and wellbeing, Education, Youth development, Agriculture and Security.

Lawal while praying for a peaceful tenure of office even as the Islamic communities look forward to 2023 Ramadan, called on him to ensure that he converts all campaign promises to results once sworn into office in May 2023.

He said, “A hearty congratulations to Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako – Oyedele on their well deserving victory at the March 18 governorship and state house of assembly elections”.

“Your Excellency, this victory is an affirmation of your outstanding achievements in the state such as Infrastructural development, education, health and other economic key sectors”.

“I am urging you to maintain equitable distribution of state resources most especially under your ISEYA agenda for the better of Urban and rural settlements across the state”.

“Your Excellency, as we all know that youth forms the highest population of the nation, I want you to ensure promotion of youth development initiatives as a way of empowering and uplifting the wellbeing of the country’s youth population “.

“It is my prayer for you that Almighty Allah will endow you with the requisite knowledge, wisdom and understand to pilot the state beyond what you’ve done in your first term in office”.

“I am therefore using the Holy Month of Ramadan to wish you peaceful tenure of office as you assume full responsibility come May 2023 “, he added.
