Youths have been urged to shun all sort of vices capable of tarnishing and truncating their future, but instead be agent of change so as to be useful to themselves and the nation at large.
The Publisher of Tropic Reporters, an online news medium, Adejola Adeyemi Crown, gave this charge on Saturday, while featuring on Infinity Media personality programme, tagged, “My Guest and I”.
Adejola said that youths identified as nation’s future leaders are now engaged or allowed to be used for indiscriminate acts which has the potential to shatter their future.
He maintained that many youths who ought to be change agent now involve themselves in cybercrimes, robbery, money rituals and cultism among other vices.
Adejola while calling on parents to be good examples to their children, maintained that a good and worthy society begins from the home front.
He however called on the youths to shun vices and embrace change by leveraging opportunities available in around them to solve issues for personal development, national sustainability and economic stability.
He said, “I have always been an agent of change everywhere I found myself. Home, office with associates, colleagues and society at large”.
“To this end all youths should endeavor to also be promoter of change in their daily endeavors as change begins with an individual and we must be ready to champion a good cause for national development “.
“No community, society or nation can fully develop without the home front, parents also have a lot of work to do in raising good and well-cultured children”.
“At this point of our national development we must task ourselves to be good ambassadors, shun social vices that could cause chaos and unrest”.
*We are the type of society we have as there can’t be a better Nation without a good and worthy citizens”.
“Nigeria used to be a leading force in Africa and beyond, but along the line we lost it and I am still optimistic that Nigeria would bounce back to its original state of prosperity, stability, abundance, love and unity”.
Meanwhile, while being asked if Nigeria can still prosper during this Democratic dispensation or return to Military regime, Adejola stressed that Nigeria may have its own share of imperfection and challenges mitigating against its progress and development, but coup d’etat can never be a good option for a developing country.
He said, “ECOWAS as a body needs to do more work to ensure stability and sustainability of democracy in Africa”
“Following the rising cases of Coup d’etat in Africa, this is another opportunity for ECOWAS to address the issue of sit-tight presidents”.
“The worst Democracy cannot be compared with the best of military government”.
“Not until we stop worshipping corruption and favoritism instead of merit, Nigeria will not experience the needed change”, he maintained.
