Governor Makinde Allocates Over N1.3 Billion for Pension Payments, Death Benefits

Engineer Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, has disbursed a sum exceeding 1.3 billion naira to cover gratuity and death benefits for retired public primary school teachers and Local Government Service employees for the First Quarter of 2024.

Mr. Olusegun Olayiwola, the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, announced this development at a press briefing held at the Local Government Conference Room, State Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan.

He revealed that Governor Makinde has pardoned and reinstated all pensioners who missed the “I AM ALIVE SCREENING EXERCISE” at any time between 1994 and the present, ensuring their inclusion in the monthly pension allowances.

Furthermore, Mr. Olayiwola confirmed that more than four hundred retirees will benefit from the gratuity and death benefits payout in this phase, assuring that the disbursement will commence on Friday, April 26th.
