Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe(Fcssm), the Honourable Commissioner of Cooperatives and Empowerment in Osun State, participated in a Yoruba-language program titled ‘Eroya’ on Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) Radio 104.5 FM.

During the program, Ogungbangbe stressed the importance of all Cooperative societies in the state registering with the Ministry of Cooperatives and Empowerment. This registration is crucial for ensuring proficiency and proper monitoring of Cooperative Society activities in compliance with the state’s existing laws.

He cautioned the public to be wary of unscrupulous individuals attempting to defraud people of their hard-earned resources through fraudulent empowerment schemes. Ogungbangbe assured that when the state plans to launch empowerment programs, it will be widely publicized through registered media outlets, and relevant stakeholders will be involved.

The Commissioner also commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for empowering Osun residents through the Osun Micro Credit Agency, providing single-digit loans with reasonable repayment terms and no hidden charges. This loan scheme is available to all eligible Osun residents, free from any political bias.

Ogungbangbe took this opportunity to encourage Osun residents facing challenges with Cooperative Societies to come forward, report issues, and seek information about the operations of Cooperative Societies. Competent Cooperative officers at the Ministry of Cooperatives and Empowerment, Osun State, are ready to assist.
