The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) has presented certificates of return to the winners of the local government election held in April.
The ceremony took place at the OYSIEC office in Agodi, Ibadan, and was attended by the newly elected chairmen and vice chairmen of the 33 local government councils in the state.
OYSIEC Chairman, Aare Isiaka Olagunju, congratulated the winners and urged them to justify the confidence placed in them by the electorate.
He also expressed gratitude to God for the successful conduct of the election and acknowledged the role of adequate preparations and enlightenment campaigns in its success.
Other attendees at the ceremony included OYSIEC commissioners, Peoples Democratic Party chieftains, relatives of the elected officials, and party faithful.
