Ogun First Lady Celebrates Birthday with Children with Special Needs

ABEOKUTA – It was a fun filled day as the wife of Ogun State Governor and First Lady, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun celebrated her birthday with young-child with special needs and status in the state

The children who were toast of the community as First lady’s friends and entourage visited School for Children with Special needs, GRA Sagamu and Ijebu Ode to celebrate her birthday.

In her remark, Mrs. Abiodun appreciated the management and teachers of the school, particularly all caregivers for not neglecting the children, their special status and needs makes them societal responsibilities as leaders and as a mother. 

According to a release by a senior aide to the first lady,  Segun Sunday, Mrs. Abiodun described the teachers patience and working love as essential fruits of love that grows society. 

“We have come here today to compliment what you have been doing through support and to assure these children of our love. They are special and daring to my heart, and I shall constantly stretch my love continually as we must also encourage institutions and priviledged individual to remember them.”

She noted that, the idea was to assure the children that they are indeed special and loved by the current administration, saying the auspicious occassion of her birthday was specially earmarked to celebrate with them while thanking God for another year.

The first lady further encouraged the children to continue to cooperate with their teachers and caregivers in their studies and vocation as education is key in fulfilling their ambitions and dreams. Food items, groceries and cash were handed to the children while dancing with them.

In his address, the Permanent Secretary, Ogun state Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Oluola Aikulola, appreciated Mrs. Abiodun for putting smiles on the faces of the children on her special day rather than throwing elaborate party to entertain the privileged friends and colleagues. 

He however, sought the intervention of the office of the first lady and the state to improve the facilities in the two schools and also assist in the area of personnel and social needs for the sustainability of the children.

Also, The head teacher, Mrs. Meadows Jaiyeola of the Ijebu Ode School acknowledged the humanity and olive potential of the celebrant Mrs Abiodun, First lady by identifying with these children on this special day, stressing that it will go a long way, assuring the children of hope and love by the state. 

“Our joy today here in Ijebu Ode knew no bounds as evident in the smiles on the faces of these children. Apparently a occassion like this doesnt arise all the time. They feel so loved and grateful.”
