Nollywood Mourns Loss of Junior Pope, Three Other Actors in Boat Accident

Tragedy struck the Nollywood community as actor Pope Odonwodo, widely known as Junior Pope, passed away in a boat accident.

Filmmaker Samuel Olatunji confirmed the devastating news on Wednesday, April 10, revealing that Junior Pope and three other individuals lost their lives when their boat capsized in the Anam River.

Olatunji expressed deep sorrow over the incident, offering condolences to the affected families and emphasizing the profound loss to the Nollywood industry.

“Four actors including Jnr Pope fell into Anam River on their way to a location and their bodies have been recovered.

“What a sad day for Nollywood. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family,” Olatunji wrote on his Instagram page.

As of now, the identities of the other three actors have not been disclosed. Further details will be provided as they become available.
