The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has authorized the payment of N30,000 minimum wage in the State with the Federal Government negotiated consequential adjustment percentages increase.

This is contained in a statement signed by the State Head of Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien.

According to the release, dated 21st January, 2020, the payment takes effect same month.

The Governor has also approved the one month arrears of the new minimum wage to be paid in subsequent month, after January.

The release extends the Governor’s appreciation to all workers for their patience and understanding.
