Former President Buhari Pays Tribute to Awujale on 90th Birthday

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has joined Nigerians in celebrating the 90th birthday of Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the Awujale of the Ijebu Kingdom.

Oba Adetona, one of the nation’s longest-reigning monarchs, has been on the throne since April 1960, predating Nigeria’s independence.

President Buhari praised the Awujale as an “exemplary King” who leads by example and embodies the qualities of a true statesman.

He commended Oba Adetona’s humility, personal integrity, and respectful demeanor towards others, saying he is a shining example of how a traditional leader should conduct himself.

The former President expressed pride in his “special relationship” with the Oba and his subjects, wishing him a longer life in service and good health. Oba Adetona’s milestone birthday is a testament to his dedication and leadership, and he continues to inspire generations with his wisdom and grace.
