The Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a 32-year-old fake doctor, Oladiti Saheed, who operated a clinic in Ororuwa town, Boripe local government area, despite having only a secondary school certificate.
According to NSCDC spokesperson, Kehinde Adeleke, the suspect had been operating the clinic for over six years and was also training others to become quack doctors for a fee of N5,000 each.
The arrest was made after a pregnant woman who had been under his care died due to complications shortly after giving birth at his clinic. The woman had been administered drugs and given an appointment, but was told to return when she began experiencing labor symptoms. She was later rushed to a nearby licensed hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The NSCDC Commandant, Michael Adaralewa, warned the public to be cautious when seeking medical attention and assured that the suspect would face the full wrath of the law after investigation.
