The Ekiti State Government has launched a crackdown on unauthorised building structures, resulting in the sealing of two gas plants and an eatery in Ado Ekiti. This action is part of ongoing efforts to penalise individuals who construct buildings and other structures indiscriminately, without the required government approval, and in violation of the State’s 2011 Urban and Regional Planning Law.

Hon. Karounwi Oladapo, the State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, issued a warning on Tuesday to all property owners without government approval, urging them to promptly initiate the necessary regularisation process. He emphasised that the ministry had finalised plans to impose stringent measures on defaulters.
