NTA Gets New Executive Team as President Tinubu Makes Key Appointments

President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of seven new executive directors for the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), aiming to strengthen its leadership and enhance its operations.

This was disclosed in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the president’s special adviser on media, who emphasized the significance of the appointments in modernizing the national broadcaster.

The list of appointees includes Ayo Adewuyi, who was reappointed as Executive Director of News, and Ibrahim Aliyu, a legal practitioner, appointed as Executive Director of Special Duties.

Other appointees are Muhammed Mustapha, who will serve as Executive Director of Administration and Training, and Apinke Effiong, the new Executive Director of Finance. Effiong brings extensive expertise in financial marketing, treasury management, accounting, and reporting.

Tari Taylaur, an accomplished audiovisual creator, producer, and showrunner, was appointed as Executive Director of Programmes, while Sadique Omeiza has been named Executive Director of Engineering, tasked with overseeing technical operations.

Oluwakemi Fashina, a chartered marketer and professional in integrated marketing communications, has been appointed as the Executive Director of Marketing. Her expertise is expected to boost NTA’s strategic positioning and revenue generation.

In the official statement, the president urged the new executives to leverage their diverse skills and experiences to elevate the NTA to global digital standards. “The appointments take immediate effect,” Onanuga said, adding that the president expects the appointees to play a key role in transforming the national broadcasting service.

“Their leadership will be instrumental in scaling up the station’s operations and ensuring that NTA meets the expectations of a modern digital era,” he added.
