Osun FRSC Appoints New Sector Commander

On August 15, 2024, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) announced the appointment of Corps Commander Taofeeq Sokunbi as the new Sector Commander for Osun State.

The update was shared by the command’s spokesperson, Agnes Ogungbemi, in a statement released on Thursday in Osogbo. Sokunbi’s appointment follows the redeployment of the previous Sector Commander, Mr. Inyang Umoh.

Ogungbemi noted that Sokunbi joined the FRSC in 1996 as an Assistant Route Commander, initially serving at the Ogoja Unit Command as the Unit Public Enlightenment Officer and patrol officer. His career includes postings to Jigawa Command from 1997 to 2004, where he served as SPEO and Duty Room Officer, and roles at the Lokoja and Ilorin Zonal Data Centres before working at the ABA Information Processing Centre (IPC).

Born on July 22, 1970, in Ebute Metta, Lagos State, Sokunbi is from Abeokuta South Local Government Area in Ogun State. He attended Shiloh Primary School and Vetland Grammar School in Agege, Lagos. Sokunbi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from Joseph Ayo-Babalola University in Ikeji Arakeji, Osun State.
