Abuja Court Denies Fubara’s Loyalists Bail

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has dismissed the bail applications filed by the loyalists of the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, linked with the state assembly explosion.

The defendants; are Chime Eguma Ezebalike, Prince Lukman Oladele, Kenneth Goodluck Kpasa, Osiga Donald, and Ochueja Thankgod.

The police had instituted terrorism-related charges against them following their alleged role in the bombing of the Rivers State House of Assembly in October 2023.
They were also accused of killing some police officers.

It will be recalled that on October 30, 2023, an explosion rocked the Rivers State House of Assembly complex.

The incident came amid alleged moves by some lawmakers to impeach Fubara.
It was gathered that some suspected arsonists threw an explosive into the complex around 9:25pm, causing a fire in the building.

However, the first to third defendants applied for bail, citing health conditions.
