Oyo Police Arraign Man for Stealing Goat from Police Barracks

A 25-year-old man, Chukwudi Ugwu, has been arrested and arraigned in court for allegedly stealing a she-goat and a motorcycle from the Iyaganku Police Barracks in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The theft occurred on April 3, and the suspect was accused of conspiring with others to commit the crime.

According to the prosecutor, DSP Adewale Amos, the stolen items include a she-goat valued at N250,000, belonging to one Olawole Oke, and a Bajaj motorcycle valued at N250,000, belonging to one David Adepoju.

The suspect was granted bail in the sum of N200,000 by the magistrate, Mr. Maruff Mudashiru, and the case was adjourned to July 11 for further hearing.

This incident highlights the need for increased security measures within police barracks and the importance of prosecuting those who commit crimes, even if they involve members of the police community.
