Ahead of the February 3 conduct of by-elections into federal constituencies and vacant senatorial seats by the Independent National Electoral Commission, the Labour Party on Friday held its primary for Surulere Federal Constituency 1, where Engr. Alusi Nwanne Kehinde emerged as the winner.
Before the primary, the party has unveiled a four man Committee to conduct the primary, and they are, Osho Segun, Azubuike Peter, Com. Damilare Emmanuel and Com. Richard A. Oliseyenum, with representatives of National Working Committee of the Party led by its National Publicity Secretary, Dr Abayomi Arabambi in attendance.
The Party which conducted the primary through voice votes was also witnessed by representatives from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Security agencies and the media
The newly elected candidate, Engr. Alusi Nwanne Kehinde Attended Fountain Nursery and Primary school, Surulere, Lagos, before proceeding to government College Lagos, Eric Moore in Surulere, lagos state, where he obtained his O’levels and WAEC/SSCE certificates.
He gained admission into Enugu State University of science and technology
(ESUT) where he obtained a B.Eng in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in 2000. He had his one-year mandatory NYSC service in University of Lagos.
In 2006 he bagged an Msc in Metallurgical and material engineering from the University of Lagos Akoka.
Engr. Kehinde subsequently ventured into real estate from where he has successfully developed different estates within the lagos and ogun state axis.
In his quest to contribute to national development and change the ugly narrative, Eng. Kehinde joined the 3” force movement to formally fuses into the Labour Party (LP) to help give birth to a new Nigeria.
No doubt the labour party has brought about the greatest political awareness and participation of the Nigerian Electorates, who now see the labour party, as the party to beat and the party with the greatest acceptability by Nigerians, to cause a revolutionary change in the economy, political and infrastructural development that Nigerians unfortunately yearned for since independence.
His Six points agenda include; Sponsorship of bills and motions that would deliver social justice for all Human capital development Education, Attracting, infrastructure, Healthcare and Sports.
With the emergence of such a technocrats cum philanthropist as Labour party candidate in Gbajabiamila constituency , it’s now obvious that the race for who will succeed President TINUBU Chief of Staff will get hotter as the APC might loose the election to the Labour party as it happened in the last presidential election where Peter Obi and Labour party defeated president TINUBU in Lagos State.
