Ogun Assembly Holds Stakeholders’ Fora On Physical Planning, Residents Registration Bills On Wednesday

The Ogun State House of Assembly will on Wednesday, 1st September, 2021 hold stakeholders’ fora on two bills which include H.B. No. 061/OG/2021- The Ogun State Administration of Physical Planning, Urban Development, Slum Regeneration and Building Production Management Law, 2021 and H.B. No. 062/OG/2021- The Ogun State Residents Registration Agency and the Registration of Ogun State residents Law 2021.

The public hearing on the proposed Administration of Physical Planning Law according to a release signed by the Clerk and Head of Legislative Service, was meant to harness the input and contributions of all relevant stakeholders for the enactment of a legislation that would ensure a more systematic monitoring/planning and development authority for the promotion of a safe and healthy environment.

The release added that the stakeholders’ forum on the State Residents Registration Bill would help achieve an effective law meant to build a sustainable database to accommodate up-to-date bio-data of all categories of residents for effective planning on issues affecting socio- economic development, including infrastructural development, security operations and revenue generation alongside the documentation of the peculiarities and needs assessment of the people.

The public hearings on the two bills will take place on the earlier mentioned date at the State House of Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, at 10:00am and 12:00 noon respectively; while all the stakeholders are enjoined to arrive punctually.
