Oyo State Governor Flags off Community Based Health Insurance Scheme

The Oyo state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has commissioned the Algon Comprehensive Health Centers at Eyin Grammar Ibadan, to Flag-off the Community Based Health Insurance Scheme.

It would be recalled that the governor last week commissioned a model school, Inaugurated New Police Unit among other projects to commemorate his administration’s one year in office.

In his statement on Tuesday, Governor makinde said, “we commissioned ALGON Comprehensive Health Center, Eyin Grammar, Ibadan and flagged off the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency ,community-based health insurance scheme.

“As I stated in my one year in office broadcast, we have developed a new funding structure for PHCs in Oyo

“In revitalising the Primary Healthcare system, we’re starting with the strengthening of a minimum of 1 PHC per ward. We are renovating & equipping 351 PHCs in the state, to begin with.”

“We started with the PHC in Oranyan and used that as a standard for the subsequent renovations.”

“I told the people to rest assured that the equipment they see here today are not for photo ops. They are here to stay and to serve the needs of the good people of Eyin Grammar and its environs, he concluded.
