A gas explosion has rocked Ajegunle, Lagos, this Tuesday, leaving nine people injured and several properties destroyed.
The blast occurred when a gas cylinder leak at a local shop ignited, causing a fire that was fueled by a snapped high-tension cable.
Firefighters from the Ajegunle and Sari-Iganmu Fire Stations, along with the Federal Fire Service, responded swiftly to contain the blaze.
Despite their efforts, four commercial tricycles, six lock-up shops, and a bungalow were razed, while a nearby fuel service station was also affected.
The injured, including a pregnant woman, children, and adults, are receiving treatment at the Ajeromi General Hospital and Gbagada Burnt & Trauma Centre.
