Manchester United have reportedly turned down Arsenal’s offer to take Eric Bailly on loan until the summer.

The Gunners have been scouring the market for defensive reinforcements, ever since Rob Holding sustained a season-ending knee injury, during their 2-2 draw at Old Trafford last month.

Bailly was being eyed as a potential option to replace Holding in central defence.

The Ivorian, who joined United for a fee of £30million back in 2016, has failed to nail down a place under Ole Gunnar

Solskjaer and was sent off in his one start under the Norwegian at home to Bournemouth.

However, according to the Daily Mail, United have no intention of aiding a top-four rival and have rejected Arsenal’s move for the defender.

Bailly becomes a free agent in the summer of 2020, but United will wait until a permanent manager is hired, before they consider extending his contract.
