300-Level Female Student Found Dead in Hostel Bathroom

A devastating incident has occurred at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) in Bauchi, where a 300-level Computer Science student, Naja’atu Salisu, was found dead in a hostel bathroom on Friday morning.

According to reports, Naja’atu had entered the bathroom in the female hostel at the Gubi campus to bathe and prepare for her lectures, but unfortunately, she did not emerge. Her lifeless body was later discovered, leaving the university community in shock and grief.

The circumstances surrounding her death are still unclear, and an investigation is likely to be conducted to determine the cause of her tragic demise. The university has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.

“She had done every routine in preparation for the morning class before going into the bathroom. She brought wears that she planned to wear to the class and kept them on the side of her bed,” Naja’atu’s roommate said.

Confirming the incident, ATBU Spokesperson, Zailani Bappa, said she was rushed to the university’s clinic for medical attention, but medical personnel were unable to find a vein in her body.

“Having noticed this, Naja’atu was rushed to the Trauma Centre of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital where she was certified dead by a medical doctor,” he noted.

Bappa said Naja’atu has been buried according to Islamic rites.

In the same vein, the ATBU Students Union Government (SUG) in a condolence message, signed by the Secretary of the Union, Comrade Danladi Zakiru, described the deceased as a hardworking student who will be greatly be missed in the student community of the university.
