Traditional Rulers’ Installation Law: All Stakeholders Will Be Invited – Ogun Speaker

Committed towards ensuring the passage of more people-oriented legislations based on the overall inputs from all stakeholders, the Ogun State House of Assembly has allayed the fear in some quaters on the proposed Traditional Rulers (Installation and Burial Rites) Law, 2020 assuring that all concerned stakeholders would be invited to contribute to the process leading to the passage of the bill after the covid 19 pandemic.

Oluomo, who made the clarification during the plenary at the Assembly Complex, Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta, assured that contrary to insinuations in some quarters, the Assembly would not sideline any stakeholder in its legislative process leading to the passage of the bill.

He however reiterated that the Assembly would by tradition convey a stakeholders’ forum, where every member of the public would be opportuned to submit inputs for due consideration by the lawmakers in the process of ensuring the enactment of the legislation meant to add value to the rich culture and traditions of the people of the State.

In another development, the Minority Leader of the State House of Assembly and member representing Ifo II State Constituency, Ganiyu Oyedeji has applauded the Prince Dapo Abiodun- led administration’s immediate intervention at dredging the Adiyan River in his constituency to prevent incident of flooding in the area.

Oyedeji noted that the dredging of the river through the State Ministry of Environment would allow for free flow of water through the river bank, with a view to averting flooding especially during the rainy season.

Responding, Oluomo remarked that the present administration remained committed to being sensitive to the yearnings and aspirations of the people in its resolve towards entrenching good governance, assuring that other parts of the State with similar challenge would be attended to in due course.
