A group, the Real Jagaban People has said the ticket of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, and his running, Senator Kassim Shettima will usher in a united Nigeria the citizenry are craving for.

The pro-Tinubu group in a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Engineer Paul Oni on Saturday, stated that the talks about Muslim/Muslim ticket was ‘unnecessary’.

Recall that there have been criticism that the APC Muslim/Muslim ticket will divide the country on religious line.

Engineer Oni however noted that the APC candidates are competent to unite the country.

The statement reads in part, “The Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kassim Shettima Ticket is a recipe for the New United Nigeria that we seek.

“Religion is a personal relationship with God and there are equally important political offices like the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives that can even instigate a veto of Mr. President and move to impeach him if necessary. Therefore, the hullabaloo against a moslem/moslem ticket is counterproductive and unnecessary.

“The track records of both Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kassim Shettima in Lagos and Borno States respectively are worthy of the offices of the president and vice president of Nigeria respectively.”
