Two teenagers were arraigned Tuesday before the Tinubu Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for stealing a sewing machine.

On Tuesday, two teenagers, Ibrahim Lukman and Olatunji Lawal, were brought before the Tinubu Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for stealing a sewing machine and other items.

Messrs Lukman and Lawal, both 19 years old, are charged with conspiracy and stealing.

In their separate pleas, Mr Lukman admitted to committing the crime while Mr Lawal pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Samuel Ishola, told the court that Messrs Lukman and Lawal committed the offences on February 1 at Okiti Lane, Isale-Eko, Lagos Island.

Mr Ishola said the defendants stole a sewing machine valued at N80,000, belonging to the complainant, Amudalat Saliu.

The prosecutor said Mr Lukman and Lawal also stole N55,000 and customers’ fabrics valued at N20,000.

He said the defendants burgled the complainant’s shop at Okiti Lane Isale-Eko and stole the items.

Mr Ishola said Mr Lukman was caught with some fabrics in his possession while attempting to escape.
