The Supreme Court sitting in Abuja has upheld the victory of Prince Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of Ogun State March 9 governorship election.

Abiodun, who defeated his closest rival, Adekunle Akinlade of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) got the victory challenged at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, Appeal Court and Supreme court.

The appeal court had earlier ruled in favour of the decision of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, and dismissed the petition filed by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and its candidate, Akinlade.

However, the Supreme Court sitting in Abuja has upheld the decision of the Appeal Court declaring Governor Dapo Abiodun as the winner of the March 9 Ogun governorship election.

Details later.
