So-Safe Corps Foils Robbery, Arrests Scavenger in Ogun

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has apprehended a 24-year-old scavenger, Ibrahim Ridwan, for robbing and brutally attacking a shepherd, Tella Orelope, at the Celestial Church of Christ in Abeokuta.

According to Commander (Dr) Soji Ganzallo, the State Commander of So-Safe Corps, through the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, said the incident occurred on July 18, 2024, at approximately 0400hrs, when the Corps received a distress call about an armed robbery attack on the shepherd.

The Special Squad of the Corps, led by ACC Elijah Ogundimu, responded swiftly and found the victim with severe injuries, including a chopped off finger and ear. The suspect was apprehended at the scene and confessed to attempting to loot the church and attacking the shepherd and his wife.

Exhibits recovered from the suspect include a cutlass, scissors, and pliers. The suspect and exhibits have been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, Sabo Ilupeju Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution.

Commander Ganzallo commended the Special Squad for their swift response and praised the Corps for their efforts in ensuring the safety and security of citizens in Ogun State.
