Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo on Tuesday accepted a 3-month suspended prison sentence, to settle his tax fraud case.

This is coming after Ronaldo missed a second-half penalty kick during his side’s 3-0 victory over Chievo in the Serie A encounter on Monday night. It was the 25th penalty miss of his career.

Ronaldo was convicted of evading payment of tax on image rights worth over £12million during his time at Real Madrid between 2011 and 2014.

Metro UK reports that Ronaldo pleaded guilty to avoid any jail time and is expected to pay around £16.5million to the court.

Ronaldo arrived at the courthouse through the main entrance with his girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez.

The Portuguese captain was denied special treatment by the judge, having requested to appear by video or enter the building by car.

The 33-year-old acknowledged his guilt and left court within a matter of minutes.

Ronaldo will hope to lead Juventus to victory when they tackle Lazio on Sunday.
