In a fiery response to allegations from Governor Dapo Abiodun’s media aide, Kayode Akinmade, former Governor Ibikunle Amosun’s media office has urged the current administration to stop playing the blame game and focus on delivering good governance to the people of Ogun State.
Lanre Akinwale, Amosun’s media representative, expressed disbelief that the Abiodun administration has failed to fulfill its statutory responsibilities, including paying severance benefits to former appointees, despite receiving detailed handover notes five years ago.
Akinwale criticized the current government for prioritizing political vendettas over governance, highlighting Amosun’s legacy of selfless service and commitment to the state.
He emphasized that Amosun’s administration paid severance benefits to his predecessor’s appointees without delay, recognizing the continuity of governance.
The statement condemned the Abiodun administration’s directive to former appointees to seek payments from Amosun, calling it a deliberate act of vendetta.
Akinwale urged the government to end the “pull him down syndrome” and focus on delivering good governance, warning that “time is ticking away.”
“Amosun served the people of Ogun State selflessly, passionately, and committedly. His legacies are still noticeable across the nooks and crannies of the state, spanning different sectors,” Akinwale stated.
