Multichoice Nigeria has announced a significant reduction in the subscription prices for its DStv and GOtv packages, effective immediately.
The move is seen as a bid to make the services more affordable for customers and restore the company’s competitiveness in the Nigerian market.
According to the new pricing regime, the DStv Premium package will now cost N29,500, down from N37,000, while the Compact+ package will cost N19,800, down from N25,000. The DStv Compact Bouquet will now cost N12,500, down from N15,700, and the Confam package will cost N7,400, down from N9,300. The Yanga package will now cost N4,200, down from N5,100, and the Padi package will cost N2,950, down from N3,600.
GOtv subscribers will also benefit from reduced prices, with the Super+ package now costing N12,500, down from N15,700, and the Super package costing N7,600, down from N9,600. The GOtv Max package will now cost N5,700, while the Joli package will cost N3,950, and the Jinja package will cost N2,700, down from N3,300.
This price reduction is a welcome development for many Nigerians who have been struggling to afford the services. It is also seen as a strategic move by Multichoice to regain its market share in the face of increasing competition from other pay-TV operators.
