Governor Seyi Makinde has issued proclamation for the opening of the 9th assembly in Oyo state

According to the statement, the proclamation is pursuant to the provision of the 1999 Constitution (as amended). The law states that the person elected as the governor of a state shall have the power to issue a proclamation for the holding of the first session of the House of Assembly of the state concerned immediately after his being sworn in. Meanwhile, Tropic reporters had reported that President Muhammadu Buhari reportedly issued a proclamation for the 9th National Assembly to be inaugurated on June 11, 2019, according to a letter which is raising eyebrows. In the purported letter from Buhari, he proclaimed that the 9th Senate and House of Representatives should hold their first sessions on June 11.
