Organisers of the Osun Osogbo Festival 2024 have announced that permission must be sought before pictures or videos taken at the festival are used for content.
In a statement received by Peoples Gazette, Oyindamola Olukanni, the festival’s media manager, underscored strict guidelines restricting the use of festival-related content.
It stated that “no media house, including broadcast, print, OOH, social media platforms, influencers, skit makers, or merchandisers, is permitted to broadcast, publish, or use any content” related to the festival without prior written consent and permission.
This includes logos, photos, videos, audio clips, and digital content.
This strict new directive is said to be aimed at safeguarding the festival’s trademark and copyrighted materials.
The directive demands total compliance, warning that any breaches or missteps will trigger legal consequences.
The Osun-Osogbo festival, known for being one of the most celebrated traditional religious festivals among the Yoruba people of Nigeria, will be held from July 29th to August 9th.
