Abuja-based human rights lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, has congratulated Lagos-based filmmaker and climate justice advocate, Yeside Aminat Olasimbo, on her appointment as Special Assistant on Women Affairs to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas.

In a statement on Wednesday, Olajengbesi described the appointment of Olasimbo as well-deserved, saying that she will push the frontiers of women representation in her new office.

Olajengbesi added that the appointment of Olasimbo by Speaker Abbas is a vote for diligence, hard work and patriotism, adding that there is no doubt that she will deliver excellently.

Olajengbesi said, “The appointment of Yeside Aminat Olasimbo as Special Assistant on Women Affairs to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, is well-deserved.

“Her appointment is a plus for women representation. There is no doubt that she will bring her rich experience from the creative and climate sectors in pushing the agenda of the girl child, advance literacy, health and other concerns important for the girl child.”
