Abeokuta – The Riders and Owners of Tricycle Organization (ROTO) in Ogun State has warned its members to distance themselves from any form of destructive protest starting from August 1, 2024.
In a communique released on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, the State Chairman, Comrade Ismail Olarenwaju Yusuf (MonYahShau), urged members to be resilient and persevere amidst the current economic challenges facing the nation.
The statement acknowledged the difficulties faced by members and the general public but expressed confidence in the Federal and State Governments’ efforts to stabilize the economy and provide lasting solutions.
ROTO emphasized its commitment to nation-building by protecting public and private properties, as well as lives, and announced its decision not to participate in any protests. The organization cited the lack of leadership and involvement from key stakeholders, including the NLC and TUC.
The chairman appealed to members to be law-abiding and maintain a positive image of the organization during and after the planned protests.
ROTO’s stance aims to promote peace and stability in the state while engaging with the government as a critical stakeholder in the road transportation sector.
