Ogun Governor, Dapo Abiodun, Congratulates President Tinubu on ECOWAS Re-election

Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has extended his warm congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his re-election as Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The Governor praised President Tinubu’s exceptional leadership, stating that his re-election is a testament to his outstanding qualities as the chairman of the regional bloc.

In a congratulatory message on Sunday, Governor Abiodun noted that President Tinubu’s re-election reflects the unwavering trust and confidence of the sub-region in his leadership.

He commended President Tinubu for laying a solid foundation for future integration and fostering security in the region since his first election two years ago.

The Governor also praised President Tinubu’s statesmanship in handling the recent political upheavals in Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger, which averted a potential crisis in the sub-region.

“Under President Tinubu’s guidance, ECOWAS has made remarkable giant strides in fostering economic integration, promoting regional peace and security, and enhancing cooperation among member states.

“His dedication to advancing the interests of the West African region has been evident throughout his first tenure, and we are confident that his re-appointment will further accelerate the progress achieved thus far.

“President Tinubu’s visionary leadership and strategic approach have been instrumental in addressing the challenges facing the region, including threat to democracy, occassioned by coup in Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso and insecurity. His commitment to dialogue averted what could have amounted to war, which would have had dire consequences for the entire region,” he said.

He, therefore, called on member states to join hands with the president in advancing the objectives and values of ECOWAS.
