Oba Matemilola to declare open Olowu Mediation Centre on Saturday

The Olowu of Owu, Oba Prof. Saka Adelola Matemilola, will declare open the maiden session of OLOWU MEDIATION CENTRE, at Itapa Olowu, Oke Ago Owu, Abeokuta at 11 am on Saturday January 13th,2024.

The Olowu Mediation Centre according to a statement by Oba Olufemi Ogunleye “is where several civil disputes among the owu communities and their neighbours would be resolved through established Alternative Dispute Resolution scheme”

The statement further informed that “Earlier in 2023, more than a dozen Owu professionals and noble men and women had undergone trainings, through the instrumentality of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp, as neutrals for the administration of alternative dispute resolution with a view to formalise the establishment of a royal Multi-Door dispute resolutions Centre in the Palace”

Neutrals according to Oba Ogunleye are people specially trained in dispute resolution, comprising of people with proven integrity and track records of uprightness.

Neutrals to sit at the Olowu Mediation Centre, the first of its kind in traditional jurisprudence in Nigeria and Ogun State, will include Oba Dr. Olufemi Ogunleye, Towulade Akinale, a Chartered Mediator and Conciliator, Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators aming others.
