The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State has arrested 45-year-old Olayinka Ajiboye, a self-proclaimed pastor, for allegedly defiling three minors in Agah Village, Ilorin.
According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, Ayoola Shola, Ajiboye, who claims to be the General Overseer of Divine Land of Joy Prayer Ministry, has been under surveillance following multiple complaints about his activities.
He was arrested on Tuesday after a tip-off and investigation revealed a pattern of sexual assault against several church members, including the three minors.
One of the victims, whose name was withheld, reported the incident to the gender unit of the command on April 3, detailing how Ajiboye lured her into a house in Sango and sexually assaulted her, forcing her to swear secrecy with the Holy Bible.
The second and third victims also reported similar experiences, including being forced to terminate a pregnancy and threatened with fatal consequences if they spoke out.
The state Commandant, Umar Mohammed, has expressed concern over the incident and directed a thorough investigation to ensure the suspect is prosecuted accordingly.
He appealed to the public to support the fight against gender-based violence and assured that perpetrators will face justice according to the law.”
