The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Ogun State, Professor Abdulganiy Raji has affirmed the safety of all election materials including ballot papers meant for the Presidential, Senetorials and House of Representatives elections.

This affirmation was made by the Commissioner today during the handing over of the materials back to the officials of central bank at Abeokuta in Ogun state.

The materials returned was to be used for election  scheduled to take place on Saturday the 16th of February 2019 but was rescheduled to 23rd of the same month.

“This is Central bank premises, they have been keeping our money and so they are keeping our materials, we have always kept it with them so we have confidence that the materials are safe here”

When asked about the readiness of INEC for the rescheduled date, the REC said “This shows that we are ready because all the materials are here, we are just withdrawing them from the local governments offices. The truth is this, even though, the information given yesterday by our Chairman is because of logistics and some other reasons. The materials are not ready in some of the states but Ogun State is not one of those states, we got all these materials to all the respective local governments yesterday, we are just bringing them back here for safe keep”
