New Owaloko of Iloko Ijesa Coronation Holds July 24

The coronation ceremony and official presentation of staff of office to the new Owaloko of Iloko Ijesa, Prince Akeem Olusayo Ogungbangbe is scheduled to hold on Saturday 24th July, 2021.

This was made known by High Chief Shola Ogunsanya, the Regent and Orisa of Iloko Ijesa community at the closing of a 3-day revival organized by Christan Association of Nigeria (CAN) to herald the installation/coronation ceremony of the new monarch.

High Chief Ogunsanya said, “the new king is expected to make a triumphant entry in Iloko Ijesa on Monday 3rd May, 2021 being his first official visit after his approval”.

“On 5th of May Installation of the Monarch will commence as well traditional coronation ceremony, while the new king will on 24th of July receive Staff of Office from state government of Osun.

“I urge all Iloko Ijesa sons and daughters both home and in diaspora to grace the epoch making event heralding a new dawn in the history of our ancient community”

“I equally solicit for full support and prayers for a successful installation and reign of the new king, he concluded.

It should be recalled that Prince Akeem Olusayo Ogungbangbe received his appointment letter from the state government of Osun on 20th April, 2020 following the demise of Oba Oladele Olashore in 2012.

In his sermon, Evangelist Peter Peter during the revival told the community chiefs and all the citizens of the community to always support the monarch with prayer and not to confuse him with any ungodly power as the new king was choosen by God not by the power of idols.

He however appreciated the good people of Iloko Ijesa and urged them to fully support the reign of the new monarch if installed in no long time.

Meanwhile, the people of Iloko Ijesa in a separate comments commended the regent, High Chief Shola Ogunsanya, Orisa of Iloko Ijesa and other chiefs for their good leadership qualities for the last eight years following the demise of Oba Oladele Olashore, and for maintaining peaceful coexistence among all and sundry.

The residents of Iloko Ijesa however applauded the good gesture of Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, governor of the state of Osun for approving the choice of the people as king.
