So-safe Corps, an Ogun State Government owned security outfit have arrested the Petrol Stealing Principal Suspect in Ogun State.
This was contained in a press release signed by So-Safe Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Moruf Yusuf and obtained by Tropic Reporters Correspondents in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
ACC Moruf said that the kingpin named Tobi Tosu, a 23-year-old tanker driver was apprehended at Oke-Odan town located at Yewa South Local Government, Ogun State by the So-Safe special squad following and intelligence report received.
He added that during the preliminary investigation carried out, the kingpin confessed to the crime without torture.
ACC Moruf said, “following the So-Safe arrest of 2 suspects at 1:00hrs on Saturday 25th. April,2020 for allegedly involved in the stealing of 2760 litres of petrol(PMS) from impounded petrol tanker that violated the Covid-19 stay at home orders seized and packed by The Nigeria Customs Service at Vicket Filling Station ,Ogosa located at Ipokia Local Government and the culprits were transfered to The Nigeria Customs Service ,Idiroko Command ,the State Commander of the Corps ,Commander Soji Ganzallo ordered the Idiroko Division of the Corps to under 24hrs produce the principal suspect who led the apprehended culprits to tarnish image of the Nigeria Customs Service by robbing the impounded petrol tanker seized by the agency.”
“The Division special squad sprang into action with its intelligence gatherers and was able to capture the leader of the gang at about 16:00hrs on Sunday 26th. April,2020.”
“The kingpin Tobi Tosu “m”, Egun by tribe ,Christian, 23yrs and a tanker driver by profession who resides at Mede ,Ajegunle Town but a Republic of Benin Nationale was apprehended at Oke-Odan,a town located at Yewa South Local Government.”
“During preliminary investigation ,the stealing principal suspect confessed without torture that Salako Tobi and Husu Mautin who were the first set to be apprehended were members of his 3 Man squad.”
So-Safe Director of Information however said that the suspected kingpin has been transfered to the Nigeria Customs, Idi -Iroko Command for further investigation.
