Literary Luminary, Abiodun Lasile, to Receive Bola Ajibola Community Service Award at Crescent University

Dr. Abiodun Lasile, a renowned literary figure and the Founder of SixthSense Initiative, is set to be honored with the Bola Ajibola Community Service Award by Crescent University, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The prestigious award ceremony will take place on Friday, March 22, 2024, as part of the university’s 18th Founder’s Day celebrations.

In a letter of nomination sent to Lasile by the University’s Registrar and Secretary to the Council, Barrister Z.A. Ajibola, the recognition underscores Lasile’s outstanding contributions to community service and literary excellence.

The Founder’s Day festivities will kick off on Thursday, March 21, 2024, with a novelty match at the Wahab Folayiwo Stadium on campus. On Friday, March 22nd, a public lecture titled “Competence and Self-Determination for Growing Leaders” will be delivered by Dr. (Mrs.) Tamramat Mosun Bello-Olusoga, the Lead Consultant/CEO of Knowledge and Resource Centre, at the Bola Ajibola Auditorium, where the award ceremony will also be held.

Abiodun Lasile’s journey from a notable broadcaster at the Nigerian Television Authority to a national opinion leader has been marked by his dedication to literary pursuits and community engagement. His retirement from NTA saw him channeling his energies into writing and providing insightful commentary across various media platforms.

His literary works, ranging from books to publications like The SixthSense Reading Culture Magazine, have left a significant impact on readers across the country, with some of his books being adopted as Literature in English textbooks in several Nigerian states.

Beyond his literary contributions, Lasile’s commitment to community development and advocacy for reading culture, especially among children, has been exemplary. He has founded and coordinated various initiatives such as Ladimeji Lasile Enterprises, Sixth Sense Series Publications, and The SixthSense Initiative, all aimed at promoting literacy and education among youths.

Abiodun Lasile’s tireless efforts in advocating for positive change and development have earned him widespread recognition and admiration, making him a deserving recipient of the Bola Ajibola Community Service Award.
