Ogun State House of Assembly has cautioned the Association of Igede people living in all parts of the State to resolve its internal crisis regarding the election of its leader (Ad’Igede I), saying that no ethnic or leadership tussles should hinder the existing peace and tranquility being enjoyed in the State.
The Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ajayi Bolanle issued the warning while considering the petition written by one Chief Onwuna Samuel against one Chief Onah Peter who both contested the seat of the leader of Igede people in the State during a peace parley held at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Ajayi in company of Honourables Abdul- Bashir Oladunjoye, Solomon Osho and Musefiu Lamidi noted that the State remained a home to all, irrespective of tribe and ethnicity, counselling both parties to resolve their leadership differences within two weeks and revert to the Assembly on their resolution.
In another development the State lawmakers today at the plenary presided over by Speaker Olakunle Oluomo, showered encomium on a public school teacher, Mr. Tajudeen Odufeso, who recently emerged as the overall winner, Best Teacher Award in Public Senior Secondary Schools.
Also, the Assembly through its Public Accounts and Anti-Corruption Committee examined the financial records of the State Health Insurance Agency as presented by the Executive Secretary, Dr. Afolabi Dosumu, with a charge on the management of the Agency to ensure compliance with financial regulations in all its activities.
The House Committee led by Hon. Musefiu Lamidi, who reeled out the various infractions discovered in the audit report of the Agency further requested for the submission of the cash inflows of the Agency from January 1st, 2020 to December 31st, 2021.
Other documents expected from the Agency are supporting documents relating to other expenses, fixed assets register, policy documents on basic health insurance provision accounts, process for the engagement of third party administration, and the comprehensive list of third party administration as well as all amounts disbursed thus far.
