The Lagos State Government has commenced the issuance of appointment letters to newly recruited secondary school teachers in the State.
Speaking during the exercise, the Chairman, Lagos State Teaching Service Commission, Mrs. Elizabeth Olabisi Ariyo expressed profound appreciation to the present administration for the recruitment, saying that it will contribute immensely to the education sector in the State.
She explained that the new entrants have shown the desire and zeal to join the pool of productive and efficient teachers across the State, observing that “this set of successful candidates have gone through the required screening process, oral interviews and micro-teaching exercise where they have been found eligible for the role”.
Ariyo affirmed that the standard of education is mostly determined by the quality of teachers in the system, as such the State Government has demonstrated its commitment to improving every aspect of the sector.
While congratulating the newly employed teachers, the Chairman encouraged them to give their best to the profession and ultimately be good role models for students.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Mrs. Toyin Idowu Awoseyi, emphasised the present administration’s focus on ensuring that students across the State get the best hands to impact and tutor them to success.
Awoseyi declared that these set of teachers are the first batch of successful candidates, noting that names of other successful candidates will soon be released accordingly.
