JAMB has instructed all CBT center owners to detain any parent found near their facilities during the 2024 UTME.
The directive, given during a virtual briefing, aims to curb past instances of parental interference during exams. Disobeying parents risk both arrest and disqualification of their ward from the exam.
The move comes as some parents have facilitated exam malpractices or disrupted exams in the past. Security will collaborate with centers to enforce the directive.
Additionally, JAMB advises candidates to safeguard personal details to avoid falling victim to fraudulent websites. With preparations complete for the 2024 UTME across 700+ centers nationwide, JAMB assures measures are in place to address any technical issues during the exam.
Candidates and parents are urged to cooperate, as disruptions could lead to disqualification. Center owners are reminded of their national duty and warned against engaging in fraudulent activities.
JAMB emphasizes its commitment to combating infractions using advanced technology.
