INTERIM TRANSPORTATION CHAIRMAN APOLOGISES TO OGUN ASSEMBLY,  AGENCY SPENDS N1.9BN ON BUILDING CONSTRUCTION

The Chairman of the Interim Transport Committee in Ogun State, Barrister Sunday Adeniyi has apologized for any breach of privilege against some members of the State House of Assembly. 

Adeniyi tendered the apology while appearing before the Assembly members led by the Deputy Speaker Oludare Kadiri at the Assembly Complex , Oke-Mosan , Abeokuta.

He solicited for a more cordial relationship with the Lawmakers to further consolidate on the existing peace and tranquility being enjoyed in the State;  promising to continue to engage the House and other stakeholders in the task of streamlining the activities of the transport sector in the State.

Responding, the Deputy Speaker,  Hon. Kadir enjoined the Interim Committee to carry along all  relevant stakeholders in the sector to further engender peace and progress of the State.

Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing, Jamiu Omoniyi says the State has expended N1.9Bn on the construction and provision of housing projects across the State between January and June, 2019.

Omoniyi, reeled out the figure when the Commitee on Lands and Housing led by Hon. Damilola Soneye appraised the 2019 budget performance of the State Ministry of Housing in Oke- mosan, Abeokuta. 

The Special Adviser expressed confidence in the project assessment Committee set up by State Governor, Dapo Abiodun to review the contracts and construction project awarded and executed by the previous administration. He therafter listed the projects executed to include: Adire Shopping Mall, Itoku, Itoku block of flats, Ibara Health Centre, Construction of three high courts at Odeda, Agbado and Ibafo, renovation of Kuti Family House and Ayinla Omowura house and judiciary complex amongst others.

Responding,  a member of the Committee, Olakunle Sobukola tasked the Minsitry to ensure the operationalization of the Ogere Market and rehabilitation of access road so as to encourage full utilusation.

The Commitee also appraised the budget performance of the Bureau of Lands and Survey.
