Gov Makinde Presents Staff of Office to new Asigangan

Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has said that the state government would not hesitate to punish any Royal Father aiding illegal miners in their Communities.

Governor sounded the note of warning on Monday during the official coronation and presentation of staff of Office to the new Asigangan of Igangan, Oba Rafiu Adeniyi Ariwoola II at the Federal Technical College Igangan in Ibarapa North Local Government Area.

Governor Makinde, represented by his deputy Barrister Bayo Lawal sued for collaboration and cooperation between the traditional institution and government authorities,.

He stressed on the need to join hands with the state government to combat the menace of Illegal miners, banditry and other forms of criminality in communities .

In his acceptance message, the new Asigangan of Iganganland, Oba Rafiu Ariwoola lauded the leadership qualities of Governor Makinde and appealed for the construction of a befitting palace and completion of a long abandoned health facility in Igangan for them enjoy more dividends of democracy.

According to the monarch, the people of the town have unanimously agreed to honour the Governor with the Chieftaincy title of Aare Asoludero of Iganganland, In recognition of his love for the town.

Earlier in his Opening remarks, the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr Olusegun Olayiwola, emphasised on cooperation between the residents of Ibarapaland and the state at large against Illegal mining and land grabbing.

In their various goodwill messages, a member of the state house of assembly representing Ibarapa Central State constituency, Hon. Peter Ojedokun, a federal House of representatives member representing, Ibarapa North/Central, Hon. Adepoju Adebayo, Oyo state Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Ademola Ojo and Chairman, State Library Board, Hon. Yemi Taiwo expressed optimism that the installation of Oba Adeniyi would bring more progress to the Igangan town and it’s environs.

They however called on every indigene to co-operate with the new king for a worthwhile attainment.

Oba Rafiu Adeniyi was born on 2nd February 1964 to the royal lineage of Ariwoola .
