FRSC OGUN INDUCTS SUPER BIKERS SPECIAL MARSHALS

ABEOKUTA – In a bid to promote road safety awareness and to encourage selfless contribution in service to humanity, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Sector Command, on Wednesday 18th December, 2019 inducted Super Bikers of the Special Marshals.

Speaking at the induction ceremony, Mr. Clement Oladele, who is the Ogun State Sector Commander, said that the Special Marshals, who are citizens of integrity and have been carefully selected and groomed to fill the position.

Oladele charged the Bikers Unit of the Special Marshals of Ogun State to join hands with the other Special Marshals that have been working assiduously with the Regular Marshals of the FRSC to rejig the FRSC processes and operations to actualise the grand strategy of making highways in Ogun State the safest in West Africa, as the FRSC Ogun State Command has fully aligned her operations with UN Sustainble Development Goals (SDG 2030).

The FRSC Sector Commander also congratulated the new inductees and assured them of FRSC’s support in effectively discharging their functions.

Oladele noted that the special marshals would collaborate with the regular marshals to reduce road crashes on the state’s roads.

“You should not use your positions to intimidate road users or flout road-use laws as anyone found wanting in this regard would be `de-marshaled’ immediately.

“You have not been inducted to use your identification cards to cause trouble on the roads but are encouraged to work in harmony with other marshals.

He commended the inductees for volunteering to render selfless services to road users, who were usually not appropriately – oriented on road – use guidelines.

Mr. Oledele therefore advised motorists to always drive cautiously, obey traffic rules, show consideration to fellow road users and ensure their vehicles are in good condition.

“Nigerians are yet to come to terms with the reality that it is no longer the responsibility of the government alone to address the menace that comes with Traffic Safety neglects”

One of the newly Inducted Bikers, Mr Adeola Ogundimu popularly known as BIG DEE who spoke to our Correspondent said that the induction was long overdue and expressed appreciation to the Ogun State Sector Commander, Clement Oladele and the entire road safety corps regular marshals of Ogun State, the FRSC Special Marshal Ogun State Coordinator, Elder Fagbenro and his Executives for accepting them and making their dream come true.

He also promised on behalf of the OGUN STATE SPECIAL MARSHAL BIKERS UNIT to do their best in protecting lives and properties and to also help in enforcing sanity on Nigeria roads.
