The Department of State Services (DSS) has taken Mukaila Lamidi, also known as Auxiliary, a former transport union leader in Oyo State, into custody. This development comes 10 years after his initial arrest and imprisonment.

According to a high-ranking government official who spoke on condition of anonymity, Auxiliary was taken into custody by the DSS on Tuesday afternoon.

This latest development follows a disagreement between Auxiliary and the current administration of Governor Seyi Makinde in May 2023, regarding issues with the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) officials.

Auxiliary’s past experiences include his arrest by the Ajimobi administration in May 2014, subsequent imprisonment in 2016, and eventual release in 2018, towards the end of the Ajimobi government.
