FG Pledges Transparency, Accuracy in Public Information

Abuja, Nigeria – The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has reaffirmed the government’s dedication to providing accurate and verifiable information to the public.

Speaking during a visit from the House of Representatives Committee on Information and National Orientation, the Minister emphasized the importance of transparency and public trust in government operations.

The Ministry is shifting away from propaganda and towards a fact-based approach to public information, the Minister announced.

To enhance transparency and accountability, regular ministerial press briefings will be established, allowing Ministers to directly address the nation on their respective ministries’ activities and programs.

The Committee Chairman, Hon. Fatoba Olusola, pledged support for the ministry’s mandate, ensuring effective communication of government activities and programs to the Nigerian people.

The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration and oversight between the legislature and the ministry.

Present at the meeting were committee members and ministry directors, working together towards a more transparent and accountable government.
