In a synchronized operation, operatives from the Federal Capital Territory Police Command targeted identified crime hotspots and hideouts in the Durumi and Dei-Dei areas of Abuja. These locations, known havens for criminal activity, saw the arrest of 85 individuals.
The apprehended suspects were involved in a range of offenses, including the construction of illegal structures, drug trafficking, and the production of counterfeit currency. Through the execution of search warrants, law enforcement recovered various exhibits, such as counterfeit currency (both local and foreign), weapons, motorcycles, generators, gadgets, and multiple stolen ATM cards.
In a statement released by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Josephine Adeh, it was confirmed that all arrested individuals would undergo screening. Those found guilty will be subjected to profiling and subsequent prosecution in court.
